# Boards on the portal (what customers see)

> Choose which boards appear on Feedback and Roadmap for your customers.

Boards organize requests in the staff app. On the portal, customers only see the boards you choose to expose—and only on the surfaces you allow.

## Create boards first

Manage board names, colors, and order under **Settings → Feedback → Boards**. Portal visibility is configured separately so you can keep some boards internal.

## Choose boards to show

1. Go to **Settings → Feedback portal → Visibility**.
2. Find **Boards to show**.
3. For each board, pick one option:

* **Feedback only** — Appears on the Feedback tab
* **Roadmap only** — Appears on the Roadmap tab
* **Feedback & Roadmap** — Appears on both
* **Hidden** — Not shown to portal visitors

Combine this with **Statuses to show** so customers see a clear, intentional slice of your backlog—not every internal column.

## What customers experience

On the Feedback tab, customers browse requests within the boards you exposed, submit ideas (when allowed), and vote. On Roadmap, they see cards grouped by status for boards marked for Roadmap.

If a board is Hidden, its requests do not appear on those portal surfaces even if the status is visible.

## Recommendations

* Show customer-facing boards (for example Features) and hide purely internal groupings.
* Use the same board names customers already use in support conversations.
* After adding a new board, immediately set its portal visibility—new boards should not surprise you on the public site.
* Preview with **View feedback portal** before announcing the URL.
