# Workspace onboarding checklist

> A practical checklist to set up branding, portal, boards, team, and feedback before you invite customers.

Use this checklist after you create your first workspace. You don’t need to do everything on day one—start with branding, portal basics, and inviting your team.

## Workspace basics

* [ ] Confirm your **workspace name** and **portal subdomain** under Settings
* [ ] Set **branding** (logo, colors, and look) so the portal matches your product
* [ ] Review default **boards** (Features, Bugs) and rename or add boards you need
* [ ] Review default **statuses** and adjust labels if your workflow differs

## Feedback settings

* [ ] Decide which fields you use: **priority**, **effort**, and scoring under Settings → Feedback
* [ ] Choose what appears on the request page, new request form, and portal
* [ ] Add a few real requests (or refine the seed ideas from onboarding)

## Portal readiness

* [ ] Set portal **visibility** (for example Publicly available, or Members & team only)
* [ ] Choose whether **roadmap** and **changelog** tabs appear on the portal
* [ ] Preview the portal from the staff app sidebar (**Feedback portal**)

## People

* [ ] Invite teammates under **Settings → Team**
* [ ] Optionally add a few portal **Members** if you want sample customers in the directory

## Optional next steps

* [ ] Connect an integration (Slack, Notion, Linear, or webhooks)
* [ ] Create an API key under **API & MCP** if you plan to automate
* [ ] Follow the [go-live checklist](https://docs.projectecho.io/) before sharing the portal widely
