# Create and edit a request

> Create feedback requests from the staff app or portal, and edit title, description, and metadata.

A **request** is a single piece of feedback—an idea, bug, or improvement—tracked in Project Echo.

## Create a request in the staff app

1. Open your workspace at [app.projectecho.io](https://app.projectecho.io)
2. Choose **New Request**
3. Enter a **title** and optional **description**
4. Choose a **board** and **status**
5. Optionally set **priority**, **effort**, and the submitter
6. Save the request

As you type a title, Project Echo may suggest similar existing requests so you can avoid duplicates.

## Create a request on the portal

Customers (and team members using the portal) can:

1. Open `YOURSUBDOMAIN.projectecho.io`
2. Choose **Give Feedback**
3. Fill in the request details and submit

What they can see and submit depends on your portal visibility and feedback settings.

## Edit a request

Open the request from **Requests** (or from the portal if it’s public):

* Edit the **title** and **description** on the request detail page
* Update **board**, **status**, **priority**, **effort**, and **owner** in the meta panel
* Control whether the request is shown on the feedback portal in the request **Settings** tab

## Tips

* Use boards (for example Features vs Bugs) to keep lists scannable
* Prefer clear titles customers and teammates will recognize later
* Link related conversation in comments or internal notes after you create the request
