Priority and Effort help your team score and compare requests. You can enable or disable each field and choose where it appears.

Open field settings

  1. Go to app.projectecho.io.
  2. Open Settings → Feedback.
  3. Select the Fields tab (Request fields).

Priority

  • Values: Low, Medium, High, Urgent
  • Toggle Use the Priority field to turn it on or off for the workspace.
  • Set a Default value when a request is created (including Not set).

Effort

  • Values: integers from 1 to 10
  • Toggle Use the Effort field the same way as Priority.
  • Choose a default for new requests (commonly 1).

Where fields appear

For each field, choose visibility on:
  • Request page
  • New request modal
  • Feedback portal (feedback tab) — off by default
  • Feedback portal (request details page) — off by default
Most teams keep Priority and Effort visible to staff only, and leave portal surfaces off so customers are not asked to estimate internal effort.

Scoring

If you use Settings → Feedback → Scoring, request scoring can factor in priority weights and divide by effort. When Priority is disabled, priority weight options are hidden from scoring settings.

Practical guidance

  • Turn fields on when your team consistently uses them in triage.
  • Turn them off if they add noise and nobody updates them.
  • Keep portal visibility off unless you intentionally want customers to see those values.
