Linking requests to a changelog entry closes the loop: voters and commenters can see that their feedback shipped.

Which requests can be linked

Only requests in statuses eligible for the changelog can be linked. By default that includes Completed. A request can be linked to at most one changelog entry. Requests already linked elsewhere do not appear in the picker.

Link requests to an entry

  1. Open Changelog in the staff app and edit an entry.
  2. Open Link completed requests.
  3. Search by title if needed.
  4. Select the requests to include (use Select all / Unselect all when helpful).
  5. Confirm. Linked items appear under Built from the following requests.
Complete and publish the changelog entry when the announcement is ready.

What customers see

On the portal changelog entry page, customers can review the post and the linked requests. Under Settings → Feedback portal → Voting, you can show vote counts for those linked completed tasks on the changelog entry page.

Best practices

  • Move work to Completed before linking so the eligible list stays accurate.
  • Link the specific requests that motivated the release—not unrelated backlog.
  • Prefer one focused changelog post with a clear set of linked items over many tiny posts.
  • After publishing, consider whether those completed items should still appear on the public Roadmap tab (Statuses to show).
