Slack: notifications and creating requests from messages

The Slack integration posts feedback activity to channels you choose and lets teammates turn a Slack message into a Project Echo request.

Connect Slack

1. In your workspace, open Integrations in the Workspace nav.
2. Select Slack.
3. Click Add to Slack and approve the Project Echo app in Slack.
4. Invite the bot to each notification channel with /invite @Project Echo (required for private channels too).

Channel notifications

On the Slack integrations page, configure which events post where:

• New request by member
• New comment by member
• New vote by member
• New request by team member
• New comment by team member

For each event you can:

• Enable or disable notifications
• Pick a channel
• Customize the message template (or reset to the default)

Internal notes do not trigger comment notifications.

Create a request from a message

1. In Slack, open the ⋯ menu on a message.
2. Choose the Create request message shortcut.
3. Fill in the modal (title, board, and related fields as shown).
4. Submit — the request appears in Project Echo with context from the original message.

Disconnect

Use Disconnect on the Slack integrations page to remove the connection. Notification rules are cleared until you reconnect.

Troubleshooting

• No posts in a channel? Confirm the bot is invited and the event is enabled with the correct channel.
• Shortcut missing? Refresh Slack or reinstall from Integrations → Slack.
